I’ve found it. The best gluten free breakfast in Milton Keynes. In fact, I’m almost disappointed that I didn’t find it sooner! As you can already tell, The Anchor at Aspley Guise seriously impressed me. Not only do they have an extensive gluten free menu, but they also have great taste in decor and they’re dog friendly – perfect for our post-walk breakfast on a Saturday morning (we luckily managed to dodge the torrential rain that lasted for the entire afternoon). Have you ever seen gluten free eggs benedict on a menu? I hadn’t (until now). Eggs benedict is my…

This weekend Luke and I celebrated our anniversary with a seriously fancy dinner date, at The Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield. I have to admit I was expecting a lot, because let’s face it it is not a cheap restaurant, but my expectations were met and exceeded. Our meal was amazing. (The lighting, however, was not so great. This week, Tuesday night was date night. Ever since I was told I can no longer eat gluten (nope, still not over it), I’ve been craving burgers. I never even used to like them that much! I can eat so much from there, which is pretty much unheard of for a gluten intolerant in a burger bar! The…

I was excited for weeks about Towcester Food Festival; put me in a place filled with all varieties of cuisines and I am one happy lady.  I was even more excited when I googled and found that there would be multiple stalls offering gluten-free goodness, and then there was the forecast for warmth and sunshine all weekend, the cherry on top of the cake (that I am no longer able to eat).   And I have to say, Towcester you did not disappoint.  I ate as much as I possibly could and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Let me give…

It finally happened. Someone finally figured out the route of all my IBS issues. I can’t say that 21 years of pain and discomfort was worth it, but at least we’re getting somewhere, right? So, I can no longer eat gluten (or tapioca, or oats – yay). I am gluten intolerant, apparently. This means finding alternatives for the vast majority of my favourite foods, and it also meant a very grumpy, hangry Haze for the last few days of this week, before I had a chance to go food shopping. I’m really going to miss ‘normal’ pasta, cakes, cookies, cereal,…
